In cement industry, As covid started we had to keep three four lines always functional. We had to support the normal users, the contractors, the dealers, the production line. What came into the forefront was network security. We had to develop the network in such a way that it offered support to all the requirements without any downtime. We had gone ahead with automated systems, like sales force automation, management systems, mobile apps. We finalised the migration from our old ERP to SAP. But at every step we had only one question – Is our network ready to cater to all the demands coming from all zones? In the pandemic we have started migrating some of our infrastructure services and apps to cloud.
Before Covid, cloud adaption was slow in our organisation. However, the demand for applications to be available at everyone’s doorstep, forced us to cater to every one down the line. This demand of the application created a necessity to shift some of the apps to cloud from in-house apps.
